There’s a lot of buzz about Fox News not airing Barack Obama’s prime-time news conference. It’s actually the Fox Network that is airing their reality-based show “Lie To Me.” Regardless of this case of mistaken identity, I think it’s intentional and petty. People will be directed to the Fox News Channel to view the news conference, thus possibly inflating their ratings rather than have the siphoned off by their network stations.

It’s come to light that the @jessewatters account on Twitter may be fake and doesn’t actually belong to The O’Reilly Factor producer Jesse Watters, who Gawker.com is trying to interview. Amanda Carpenter (@amandacarpenter), a reporter for the Washington Times, posted the following:

@JesseWatters is a BOGUS account. This is not the real Factor producer Jesse Watters. Block this feed, do not follow. It is an imposter... I talked with the real Jesse Watters. He’d like to shut down the fake @JesseWatters. Help him by getting this message out. Tks!!

Sean Hannity consents to waterboarding. Then the bar is raised when Keith Olbermann offers $1000 per second. Now, there’s a new web site devoted to the charitable waterboarding session…

At WaterboardSeanHannityForCharity.com, you can email mock donations of one dollar per second. Not good enough? You can provide stipulations (i.e. He has to be standing on a bucket for seven hours with no bathroom breaks). There is a disclaimer that your email will be forwarded to MSNBC, Fox and Sean Hannity’s favorite charity.

Apparently, Shanna Moakler is the Miss California State Director and has come under fire regarding the treatment of Miss California, Carrie Prejean. Fox News claims that Moakler ditched Prejean over her controversial answer and wants her to stop talking to the media.

Predatory Angel Production, a gay adult entertainment company is asking people to tea bag the tea baggers on May 1, 2009. Participants who post pictures of their event are eligible for prizes including a year’s subscription to their magazines. The following is from the press release I received via email:

“I want the May first teabag event to be about gay marriage, environmental responsibility, corporate responsibility, immigration, better health care, and better schools.”

If you’re like me, you’re following Gawker.com and waiting to see if they ever catch up with The O’Reilly Factor producer, Jesse Watters, much less get to ask him the questions they’ve outlined on their site. Their questions cover the following topics.

On Twitter, Watters stated that he doesn’t consider what he does ambushing, but the evidence shows an entirely different story. These facts are from the horses ass mouth so-to-speak.

Exhibit 1) A blog post by Watters titled “Producer’s Notebook: Ambushed.”

Exhibit 2) O’Reilly interview with Watters – O’Reilly: “Back of the Book” segment tonight, ambush journalism… With us now “Factor” producer Jesse Watters, one of our field guides.

The questions also cover several instances where Watters position is, basically, they need to ambush because people refuse to come on the show. However, it’s hard for someone to accept an invitation when one isn’t offered.

In complete absence of journalistic integrity, The O’Reilly Factor’s producer Jesse Watters ambushes and harasses people who are critical of the show or O’Reilly’s agenda. Gawker.com wants to see how he likes it…

Apparently Watters can dish out the ambushing, but can’t take it. He has repeatedly refused interviews, so Gawker.com has resorted to using the same tactics against him. Hopefully they’ll have some video soon, but they’re still waiting outside of his last known address.

I don’t really agree with this since nobody should be subjected to waterboarding, but since Hannity has offered to do it, by all means… Now Keith Olbermann has called him out and is offering $1000 for every second that Hannity can last. Of course, this money will go to charity.

Discussing the Obama/Chavez handshake with Alan Colmes, Bill O’Reilly attempts to rewrite history concerning Nixon meeting and shaking hands with Mao Zedong.

COLMES: Well, first of all, this shows — first of all, what do you, ignore the guy? When George W. Bush was at the UN and asked, “Will you ever — will you talk to Ahmadinejad if you’re in the same room?” “No, I won’t talk to him” — like a 5-year-old. What do you, ignore somebody standing right next to you? Do we — because he touched him, put his hand on his shoulder, shook his hand? Do these people have a problem with Mao and Nixon? And of course, you worked for Richard Nixon. I mean, Nixon goes to China, do you have a problem with –
O’REILLY: It was Zhou and Nixon. Mao was not involved.
COLMES: There was –
O’REILLY: Yeah, Zhou.
COLMES: Did you have a problem with looking into Putin’s eyes and seeing his soul? Did you have a problem with any of the other –
O’REILLY: All right, but — OK, all of those are valid points, as long as you realize it was Zhou Enlai, not Mao Zedong.

It looks like the vast majority (three to one) of those who took Glenn Beck’s poll asking, “Is waterboarding torture?” agree that it is torture. As of this moment, over 9,000 votes have been cast and 75% have voted “Yes.” It’s comforting to know that not all of his viewers are sadistic maniacs or cop killers.

BTW, the poll is still broken when I tried using FireFox.

Bill O’Reilly had Newsday columnist Ellis Henican on his show where they debated waterboarding and torture. Bill-O also said he’d waterboard someone 1000 times to save a life… The question is, would Bill-O allow himself to be waterboarded 1000 times to save someone else’s life…

HENICAN: You’re coming out for torture now?
O’REILLY: Torture, my [bleeped].
HENICAN: Torture? Torture?

The O’Reilly Factor producer Jesse Watters, apparently a GE shareholder, attended a meeting in order to confront GE executives about alleged media bias concerning MSNBC and Keith Olbermann. Known for his tactics of ambushing and harassment, Watters had Fox News cameras waiting, but didn’t identify himself as an employee of Fox News.

Why does O’Reilly and his ilk need to sink so low when they claim their ratings are so high?
