Apparently, he didn’t get the memo that Fox Broadcasting Co. will air it’s regularly scheduled So You Think You Can Dance, but will direct viewers to Fox News Channel or Fox Business Network to watch the press conference.

Sean Hannity has been caught making stuff up about health care reform again. I love the comments and emails about how Fox News reports the truth. Take a look at the following and tell me how, exactly, is Hannity reporting the truth…

For example, if you’re not — if you don’t have private insurance the year that this bill is passed, you can’t get that later on from your employer.

In fact, section 311 of the tri-committee House health care reform bill allows employers to meet coverage requirements by offering employees “coverage under a qualified health benefits plan (or under a current employment-based health plan (within the meaning of section 102(b))) in accordance with section 312.”

Conservatives would love President Obama to fail and are now drawing a line in the sand with Health Care reform by calling it Obama’s Waterloo. Glenn Beck adds to the hate with a little fear mongering by calling the President “dangerous.”

BECK: I’m telling you – this guy is dangerous. He’s never lost before. He won’t understand it. He won’t understand – look how – he, uh, is like, who are you to question me? I mean, this guy is practically an imperial president now. When he starts to lose and people start to question him and push him back against the wall, he’s not gonna know how to react.

As Beck has stated, he doesn’t research, so how would he know that Obama lost a Democratic primary run for the U.S. House of Representatives in 2000? Maybe Beck should try that research thing so he won’t look like such an idiot…

An increasingly common conservative attack against President Obama is to address the so-called czars and questioning their accountability. Fox News’ Jane Skinner brought up the question of whether or not having czars is constitutional and if there would be any oversight.

Fox News even displayed a graphic titled “All The President’s Czars” (see below). Included are eight Senate-confirmed positions, one is being held up by Republicans, one is the Science Adviser and one is the chair of a Congressional oversight panel.

Thankfully, Fox correspondent Wendell Goler was able to explain that having czars is nothing new and many of them are actually advisers (i.e. National Security Adviser) who are confirmed by the Senate. Furthermore, he brought up how Condoleezza Rice, the National Security Adviser appointed by Bush, refused to comply with the Senate in regards to providing testimony about the supposed weapons of mass destruction.

It took about a week, but Fox & Friends cohost Brian Kilmeade finally apologized for making racist remarks about the pureness of Americans, or lack thereof.

“I made comments that were offense to many people,” confessed Kilmeade. “Looking back at those comments I realize they were inappropriate. For that, I sincerely apologize.”

He originally said this:

KILMEADE: We keep marrying other species and other ethnics–

CARLSON: Are you sure you are not suffering from some of the causes of dementia right now?

KILMEADE: The problem is the Swedes have pure genes. They marry other Swedes, that’s the rule. Finns marry other Finns; they have a pure society. In America we marry everybody. We will marry Italians and Irish.

Pfc. Bowe Bergdahl is a U.S. soldier who was recently captured by the Taliban. A video has been released by his captors, but details of his disappearance remain a mystery. The Taliban claim that the soldier was drunk and left his base in Afghanistan and was then captured. Fox News guest, former U.S. Army Lt. Col. Ralph Peters, threw out unproven claims that, “He is an apparent deserter,” “he is collaborating with the enemy,” and “we know that this private is a liar.”

PETERS: I want to be clear. If, when the facts are in, we find out that through some convoluted chain of events, he really was captured by the Taliban, I’m with him. But, if he walked away from his post and his buddies in wartime, I don’t care how hard it sounds, as far as I’m concerned, the Taliban can save us a lot of legal hassles and legal bills.

Yesterday’s confirmation hearing for Judge Sonia Sotomayor included opening statements and nothing more… Apparently, the voices in Glenn Beck‘s head were asking questions, because he thinks he heard some when nobody on the Senate Judiciary Committee actually asked any.

With his typical batshit crazy flair for the dramatic, Beck opined, “As our country burns to the ground, this is the questioning…” But, we already know he doesn’t research, which he admitted to the women of The View.

Fox News ran the special, Judging Sotomayor, on July 12, during which co-host Bret Baier aired a clip of Sotomayor stating, “the Court of Appeals is where policy is made.” He used this to claim that Sotomayor confessed to “legislating from the bench.”

Judge Sotomayor actually explained the difference between district and appeals courts while answering a question regarding clerkships at the two levels. Her response is in line with the policy making role of the federal appellate courts. The Oxford Companion to the Supreme Court of the United States and numerous legal experts agree.

Whatever chance Sean Hannity has to bash a Democrat, Al Gore for example, he will take it… This time, he not only brings up Al Gore, but also dismisses climate change because of a report about cooler weather in New York’s Central Park.

FRANK LUNTZ (Republican pollster): Now, the Democratic approach is to talk about climate change. And when you’ve seen what happened with Katrina, Al Gore’s movie — the public does believe that the environment needs to be addressed. And so the battle now is: Who’s going to offer the most jobs? Are they green jobs or not? Who’s got the best solution to deal with it?

HANNITY: But let me ask you — because new information came out. This is the coolest June on record, the eighth coolest, and they’re going back to the 1800s, Frank.

LUNTZ: I know. I’ve actually gone back to cotton.

HANNITY: Well, I — but the point is that most people may be buying into Al Gore’s movie, but it’s not reality, and it’s not science.

Bill O’Reilly, apparently, needed to further prove his racist tendencies, so he went on a bitter, hate-fueled, rant about the deceased Michael Jackson and Jackson’s grieving fans. Granted, the media coverage has been extreme, but what O’Reilly says is pretty disgusting in this debate with Columbia University professor Dr. Marc Lamont Hill…

O’REILLY: Okay, then why is he being held up by the African-American community as a pillar of black America when he blanches his skin? [...]

But answer me this, if he is such a black American icon, why did he have his kids with white men?

HILL: That’s a personal matter. That doesn’t make him less black. There’s no blackness meter here. You don’t become less black when you have a white kid.

O’REILLY: You don’t become an African-American icon when you do something like that.

HILL: No, you become an African-American icon for producing the greatest music and being the greatest entertainer ever for being extraordinary humanitarian and for.

O’REILLY: No. You just become an American icon for that, not a black American icon. [...]

HILL: It’s not — oh, he is an American idol — icon. He is quintessentially American, but he’s also undeniably black. You can’t take black from him just because he has white kids.

Who the hell is Bill O’Reilly to tell anyone who can or cannot be their icons? He seems to think he has some right, or ability, to speak for black people, regardless of whether or not race was a factor in the memorial(s) and tribute(s). The only person who made this a racial issue was Bill O’Reilly.

Former Judge Andrew Napolitano filled in for Glenn Beck and proceeded to cast his own Beck-like aspersions about lack of testimony in the General Motors’ bankruptcy case. Napolitano stated, “[t]here was no testimony whatsoever in court.”

In accordance with the Court’s Case Management Order #1, direct testimony was presented by affidavit and cross-examination and subsequent questioning proceeded live. After cross-examination, the Court found all witnesses credible, and takes their testimony as true.

Known for manipulating video for desired shameful effect and badly misquoting Barack Obama, Sean Hannity was caught doing it again, this time of Obama discussing the Cold War. Obama acknowledged the roles of past leaders to lift the Iron Curtain, but the video Hannity aired was edited to exclude that part:

OBAMA: There were a whole bunch of people throughout Eastern Europe who showed enormous courage, and I think that it is very important in this part of the world to acknowledge the degree to which people struggled for their own freedom. We don’t have to diminish other people in order to recognize our role in that history.

Hannity followed up that edited clip with:

HANNITY: Unbelievable. Now, that’s interesting, because Lech Walesa, the leader of the Polish Solidarity Movement, said this about the end of the Cold War; he said, quote: “We in Poland took him, Ronald Reagan, so personally. Why? Because we owe him our liberty. Now this can’t be said often enough by people who lived under oppression for half a century.” Mr. President, if I were you, you may want to consider hitting the history books maybe before your next foreign trip.

Here’s what President Obama really said:

OBAMA: Well, listen, the — I think that you just cut out Lech Walesa and the Poles. You just cut out Havel and the Czechs. There were a whole bunch of people throughout Eastern Europe who showed enormous courage.

And I think that it is very important in this part of the world to acknowledge the degree to which people struggled for their own freedom. I’m very proud of the traditions of Democratic and Republican presidents to lift the Iron Curtain.

Gretchen Carlson, host of Fox & Friends, asked Governor Mike Huckabee (R-AR) about some remarks made by Vice President Biden about the economy. Huckabee wasted no time in making the false claim that George W. Bush did not play the blame game about what he inherited from Bill Clinton.

HUCKABEE: There’s one thing though that Biden and President Obama have got to get under control. And that is quit blaming George Bush. George Bush inherited an economy when he became president back in 2001 that was already beginning to show real signs of the stress from the breaking of the technology bubble. George Bush didn’t go out whining and complaining every day, he stood up like the president of the United States and he worked on trying to get it fixed.

Of course, Bush did place plenty of blame on Clinton:

Fox News’ Liz Trotta, breaking with Fox News tradition, went off on Sarah Palin and actually defended liberal criticism of the former wannabe VP. “The woman is inarticulate, undereducated,” Trotta said, arguing that for once liberal criticism was “well-deserved.”
