Can’t leave ATT (iPhone user), and switching out Geico is too painful.
But I’m canceling my Vonage account of 5 years (yeah pre-IPO) and switching to toktumi (highly recommended!), will not visit Applebees for a while at least, and I’m leaving the UPS store (moved recently, was going to get a new box with them at a different location).
Thank heavens there’s nothing on that list that I use. Or ever will.
You probably use something from GE without even knowing it.
I have been on Vonage for 7 years. Yes… from the beginning. I was even featured on a Vonage television commercial. Because Vonage advertises on Fox News I have found that supporting them is not longer in my or the country’s best interest. Also… once Vonage gets the iPhone… I will be out of AT&T so fast it will make their pin heads spin.
you know, leaving these companies isn’t the only option; you can also write and tell them in very clear terms that their affiliation with these shows puts them in jeopardy of losing your business. that, for most companies, is a wake up call in itself
Just paste into their email subject and message box
I will NEVER do business with you while you are associated with Fox!!
I was going to switch my insurance company for auto, home, and life from Allstate to Geico, until I learned that Geico is a Fox News advertiser. I found another insurance company that does not use Fox as advertiser, I feel very empowered.,., Sure I am just one person, but I have a very large family and friends and neighbors and boy am I spreading the word
I’m through with vonage and geico now!
my comment was moderate…Look if everybody boycotts a business that is associated with someone they don’t like…it is not the business as a whole…these commpanies deal with both sides, an like it or not other countries too. People that are on Plavix like I am…I don’t look at who they sponsor I know I have to be on it….I don’t stop and ask who do they sponsor.
Beverly, Like you, I’m on a medication I can’t switch (no equivalent) and their company sponsors things I don’t like. I can’t boycott them, but I sure can give them hell – and I do. If you call their customer service number and get them escalate the calls to the PR division, it’s a lot of fun watching them squirm.
That’s an interesting list. I wonder if major companies such as these take into account if advertising with a certain affiliate may actually hurt their reputation – as m mcneil pointed out. Does anyone have any knowledge about this? I’m sure it depends on the company, but what about a very general one like at&t?
Ralph Nader, yes, folks, that Ralph Nader, has urged people for 50 years to boycott!
It works! We have been so compliant over the years, and like children pulling the covers over our heads, we thought it would never come to this….boycott, and speak your mind..write letters…the Beck’s, O’Reilly’s and the Limbaugh’s do; isn’t your future worth it? Stop this disgrace and go shopping responsibly……..
You say what you wish, but at every crossing no matter what entity is doing the reporting/polling including the Huffingtonpost it shows, especially from 5 to midnight, FoxNews is beating everyone of its competitors and beating Olbermann’s show “by a ton”. Now one must ask why is that? If Olbermann would invite a guest that disagreed with him and actually conduct a debate with intelligent give and take instead of all of the name calling he engages in maybe someone would take his show seriously. I have basically the same criticism of Chris Mathews although he does bring on opposition. On the other hand he talks over the top of them and bullies them. I am no fan of Bill O’Reilly for the same reason, but in the area of “cutting off your guests” O’Reilly can’t hold a candle to Mathews. Just my opinion

I found out that if you buy basic cable, the only news station you get is FOX. How many people out there own all of the major media outlets, ted turner, Murdock how many more? Not many. This is part of the problem of why Fox news is so popular.
1st amendment.. Can you tell me wat I shuld be watchin?
It’s funny that Fox Fans think points like yours are valid or reasonable – that we’re somehow trying to take away your first amendment rights. You can watch whatever you want. Nobody here is telling you otherwise… We can, however, tell sponsors that they’re supporting the dissemination of ignorance and hate; therefore, we will speak with our wallets and take our money elsewhere, which is well within our right to do. Yours too.
First amendment pendulum swings both ways, stuped. O’Reilly has his right to call Reich a communist and we have our 1st amendment right to tell O’Reilly what we think of it, in any way we want to… watch what you want, it would surprise me if you watched anything else!
No gang…let’s tell the sponsors we are going to use social media…twitter, facebook, blogs, etc…to let the world know every day that their company supports someone who’s only goal is to instil hatred and fear in their audience or what some might call a “terrorist”
I have yet to see anything on Fox that did not have a psychological Hook. It seems all of mainstream media is lacking in unbiased reporting, intelligence, and ettiqite-talk over, interupt, cut off, open disdain and actual namecalling to the point of slander. TRUTH-fact checking is only to advance an agenda-not inform US. This is all pervasive, FOX is just the worst offender.
Let your Merchants know…
Reich debating O’Reilly is like using a Gatlin Gun against a pea shooter.
Other than AT & T I don’t use any of these companies. Sad that the Shriner’s Hospital would align itself with Fox.
I will stop buying anything from these Companys. The best way to send a message is in their wallets ! I hope all Occupy groups do the same !
