246 Responses to “Fox News Sponsors”

I will not buy any products from best buy or any of the fox supporters until they remove their advertising.
Fox’s slogan ought to read”We Distort You Comply’.
Thanks so much for the list of sponsors, I actually feel like I am doing something worthwhile. I know that the fastest way to get someone to pay attention is their pocketbook. I have also been successful at getting others to not purchase as long as this BS continues.
I don’t see General Electric on the list. They advertise on Fox News. This must be an honest oversight on your part. For all you committed boycotters: no GE products, no NBC programming, no MSNBC, etc. Don’t be a hypocrite, let’s boycott these products and shut down Fox News!
Plunket, Last night I recorded the advertisements on O’Reilly’s show and GE was one of them. They will be added.
Thanks for the list. I will boycotting Best Buy, Apple, Black & Decker, Bridgestone Tires, CheapTickets.com and Nestlé
I have not watched Fox News in a very long time however, I admit that I was too complacent about all of the vitriolic garbage that has been spit out by there spokespersons,especially Beck and Hannity…I am on the bandwagon for the boycott. Can’t we get some sort of online petition going? I don’t know how to do that, but someone must…thanks for the web site…next should be Rush Lindbaugh and his advertisers..I agree with the gentlemen who says they are promoting overthrowing the government…this isn’t free speech…
Thank you for leading this effort. I also have discontinued watching fox news. I found that I was often shocked by the underhanded slant given to the news. I was also saddened as I realized the amazing amount of effort being made to twist any good being done by the current administration to make it look bad. I think that Fox News is doing a great deal to destroy our country at a time when we all need to pull together. It will be difficult enough for this country to overcome our difficulties if we are united. Such devise reporting only makes it more difficult.
Well said Dorothy. Our only hope is that your reasonable attitude is shared by more people then the opposition. The opposition is so vocal. Our side is a bit too quiet right now.
Didn’t O’ Reilly go on a rant about GE selling something to Iran. He has also ranted about GE owning NBC. Talk about hypocritical. Bite that hand that helps feed you.
FNS:
Someone above wanted to know how much money each sponsor spent on FOX advertising (which you didn’t know, of course.)
The amount of money isn’t so important as the amount of *time* purchased by each company. Volunteers can record that with a stopwatch. Maybe an interesting project…?
A woman in Columbia, MD, is working to get Fox News off the preset TVs so she can work out in peace. Check out the story at:
http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/maryland/howard/bal-md.ho.columbia25sep25,0,3749654.story
Fox Lies! I watch to combat their propaganda. The Fox demographic is white, rural, southern, uneducated, unintelligent, unsophisticated, xenophobic, rascist… the list goes on. I am grateful to sites like this which promote the truth. My Best. John
I will be boycotting all companies that support Fox News.
Fox News supports racism, xenophobia and right-wing neocon nut jobs. Fox News is a danger to this country, to freedom, to liberty and equality.
I’m fed up of Faux Noise and their lies.
So when will you be adding GE to the list of companies you boycott? Even though they own MSNBC they are always advertising on Fox. I guess they wanted to advertise on a new chanel people actual watch! So are all of you going to boycott MSNBC? I guess you’ll be left with C-SPAN like many of you were touting.
Wes, GE is on the lists of sponsors of Bill O’Reilly and Fox & Friends. The master list has not been updated yet.
So are you boycotting MSNBC?
Wes, There is only so much time in the day and only so many resources available, so I have chosen which network to focus on for this site. If you want to start a site about boycotting msnbc, more power to you. I would happily check it out, compare facts, and take part as much as I can. I’ve never once said that all media is innocent of bias, or is 100% correct, 100% of the time.
Dear Dorothy of Sept. 20, Please enlighten me on the “Good that the Administration” is doing. I am so disappointed. Where do you see employment improving? So much for that huge stimulus creating millions of jobs. It has only served to save a bunch of union and government jobs that we will be paying for for years. I don’t just blame this Administration but the last as well. I don’t see him as the leader that his party was touting him to be and he hasn’t gone after his own for the fraudulent tax problems and sweatheart deals and worse of many of the people he surrounds himself with (i.e., Charlie Rangel and Chris Dodd) He’s just another Washington politician just like the rest. This isn’t what I voted for. Where is the change? Fox may go overboard in slanted their news to the right but what is the difference between them and MSNBC who slants to the left. No one is questioning what anyone in government is doing. Where are Woodward and Bernstein these days? You can’t say that this whole boycott isn’t virulent and trying to stifle free speech. You only want to stifle the speech that you don’t want to hear. This seems all a little hypocritical to me.
winrobaaa- There is a reason this site exists. Free speech should be protected. Fox News should make everyone happy and change to Fox OP ED then we can bunch them in with Limbaugh as pure base entertainment. It’s seems a little hypocritical that you would stifle our freedom to boycott any product or service we find offensive. We find Fox News and the people who work there offensive and harmful to the progress of truth and yes even prosperity for this country. Oh and yes we are a left leaning bunch (surprised you hadn’t noticed that) MSNBC is not perfect. No station is. My motto “do no harm” and I feel Fox News does real harm. Total propaganda.
Don’t assume that I am so dense as to not know that most here are left leaning. I’m not trying to stifle your free speech at all. Anyone has the right to boycott whatever they please. I have used the list here to boycott the shows that I find offensive on Fox so don’t think I’m right wing, I am not. My problem here is that there is a faction who use the same visceral language to fault all of Fox News, which is not all propaganda. I don’t have a problem with people who try to boycott whatever programs they wish but they shouldn’t pretend that they aren’t trying to stifle free speech by bringing the whole network down. It is a first amendment right and anyone who thinks that any legislation like the Fairness Doctrine isn’t stifling free speech doesn’t know history and does not remember the basic principles this country was founded on. My point is that people boycott whichever programs you feel are offensive but don’t be so high and mighty that some comments here aren’t completely hypocritical. MSNBC is just as guilty as some show on Fox which is why I don’t watch many of their programs either and wish there were a site where I could help boycott their advertisers. Some of us are middle of the road and find some comments here as offensive as commentary on some Fox News programs, not all. I don’t want to see anyone lose their jobs so I would lay off the newsworthy shows on Fox, but that’s just me and I’m as entitled to my opinion as anyone else.
Just heard Max Cleland, the triple amputee Vietnam Vet and former Sen. on an NPR interview concerning his new book about surviving first Vietnam then Carl Rove, the master manipulator of facts. Rove took Cleland down with vicious untruthful ads (which they took down – but damage was done) Rove, a FOX Contributor, has directly, literally and without conscious ruined more lives and cost people their jobs then any other contemporary figure I can think of. He fired Republicans attorney generals that wouldn’t do his bidding.
Lies can only cause damage when people act on those lies. Sure there are sprinkles of truth here and there on Fox but mostly they laser focus on people and or policy they don’t agree with- the intend to bring specific people down. We should be so lucky as to bring Fox down. If only we were that powerful. This is only an itty bitty web site- not Carl Rove’s office afterall.
My Dad told me – ‘show me your friends and I’ll tell you what you are.’ Fox plays with Rove. I know what Fox is and trust me when I tell you anyone who respects “Fox and Friends” would not be welcome to dinner in my home.
I think Michelle is finally getting to the root of the problem. Mass Media are tools of the political parties of today. There is no “fair and unbiased”. There has always been corruption of the media by the political parties but it was not until the “W” administration that it became clear and evident with truly disasterous effects on our country. Understanding that could help us get just that much closer to taking this country back for the people; not parties. I think people need to understand that what the Hillbilly administration did made a select few people incredibly rich and powerful and they are not willing to let that go easily. So as a result we get bombarded with this massive amount incredulous propaganda hoping to prevent us from seeing the real agenda. In the end, you, and I, and every other person outside of the very wealthy and powerful are considered stupid and incapable of making our own decisions. Hopefully with more sites like this and more honest and informed people we may make a difference and change the status quo, that keeps so many in the dark barracaded in their own living room afraid of the immigrants, health reform, or any other change.
Good point Vinny. Fear is how the former administration manipulated the public ie. terror levels. If it’s orange should I steer clear of the subway today? Let’s not forget the evidence that Fox was receiving talking points directly from the Bush Admin. Fox became, for them, like their own government run network only they didn’t pay for it we did by supporting the advertisers who support Fox. Fear helped stall the economy in the early days after 9/11. Whipped up fear of, as you say, immigrants, health reform or say stem cell research have set us back twenty years already. Moving forward Fox will promote fear of health reform and alternative energy as well as chip away at this administration in order to make them ineffective. Of course this in turn – will continue to thwart us first economically then of course spiritually. The known effect of an economic and emotional ‘depression’ will in turn raise crime levels increase drug and alcohol abuse and reduce stability of families. So much for the ‘family values’ of contributors of Fox like Huckabee.
I have to point out that for the most part- liberal networks appear to be motivated by seeing this country and its people succeed. Liberals desire to move in a direction that will allow as many of our citizens as possible to live fulfilled lives and prosper.
On the other hand we all know the Conservative’s motto is ‘don’t touch my stuff- even if I did steal most of it from you.’
PS– Keep up the good work everyone. As Bono sings so well “… the goal is soul!” so put a little of yours in this fight.
All FOX News is propaganda. Why??? I think Fox has stumbled onto a money maker by entertaining and pacifying the far right wingers .People that wonder where the America of 1950′s segregation and black and white morality has gone. Add in corporate America’s manipulation of Republican and Democratic Senators and Congressmen and the two prop each other up. I thank NPR and MSNBC for keeping me on topic. Sometimes the entertainment coming from Fox News is so sad because it actually is
justifying hate,fear,ignorance and racism for a small minority of people.But the politicians are using this clown act to stir and divide voters. The FCC should enforce the codes of conduct for news organizations. Fox has no legitimate news organization.
They repeatedly report misinformation and refuse to air retractions. Entertainment,propaganda,stroking deep seated fears and prejudices all of these describe Fox News.It’s time to drop the “News”
Does anyone know how I can contact Rupert Murdoch by email or regular post? I want to tell him about how his lies and propaganda have brainwashed an 85 year old woman who suffers from Dementia. This woman absolutely hates President Obama, and wishes him dead. She believes the Glenn Beck is the most truthful man on earth, with the exception of God. I have tried to prove to her that every thing that Fox broadcasts is a proven lie. She brought up the Birthers and the “sing praises to Obama” crap. She talked about the kindergardener who was suspended for carrying a cub scout knife to school, and said the the school never had that policy until Obama came into office. Of course she heard the last part on Fox, wish was an outright lie. We have somehow got to put a permanent stop to Fox News before some gets killed. Oh, wait. Someone did. The abortion Doctor who was killed on O’Reilly’s orders.
Excuse the typos. I am so made at this woman and Fox that my hands are shaking. I am also Dyslexic, and I sometimes type faster that my brain can register the keys that I see.
Mike, The following page has just been added with some contact info…
http://foxnewsboycott.com/resources/fox-news-contact-info/
Glad to see the White House pushing back on Fox News and the networks consistent use of its 24/7 bashing of the administration and pushing the neo-conservative point of view.
In February 2003, a Florida Court of Appeals unanimously agreed with an assertion by FOX News that there is no rule against distorting or falsifying the news in the United States. Read the whole story here. http://www.projectcensored.org/top-stories/articles/11-the-media-can-legally-lie/
Tit for Tat. FOX supporters are boycotting best buy, Lowes, and any other sponsor which pulls its advertisement . My firm has gone as far as swapping UPS for FedEx because they pulled their ads. Lets see who gets hurt the most shall we?
james, That is your right, just like it’s every company’s right to advertise on whatever outlet they wish. UPS & FedEx probably couldn’t care less about your decision. FNC viewership, on a good night, makes up a fraction of a percent of the US population and you are but a speck of dust on their radar – one they would gladly brush away to not support partisan attacks and race baiting.
Again to James- judging by the election and the changing demographics of our country I wouldn’t bet against us. And let’s face it. We’re nicer. Keep up the good work everyone.
PS- do you have the guts to tell the name of your firm on this site. Not in a million years.
Get ready people. Lou Dobbs is probably coming to Fox, and we will want to start a boycott of his advertisers.
I make it perfectly clear that I will not do business with any establishment that has Fox News on. I used to laugh it off but it has ceased to be humorous and I now consider it a danger to our country.
Can someone direct me to the story about Fox News not having a news license, but an entertainment/media license.
I agree there is nothing funny about a so called “news channel” whose primary goal is to make ineffective the current administration (that has enough real world business to take care of). It’s unfortunate that educated people from both sides, can’t cooperate on the big issues; health care, climate change, renewable energy, job creation- just long enough to stop this country from sliding further downhill
CAncelled my Lifelock account today!! It felt good! I encourage everyone to “Vote with their Dollar”! Don’t support any company that advertises on Fox News!!!
people — We need to email the heck out of —Lexus / toyota —- it seems that have went back on their word and now are once again Sponsoring Glenn Bec
would also like to admit though the critisism Fox News is giving him right now, mostly from Bill O’Reilly. I don’t watch Fox usually but I have to say that Bill O’Reilly was truly pathological last night in saying there have been 4 terror attacks on Obama’s watch. That is nonsense. The underwear bomber was a attempted terror attack, so I’ll give Bill O’ credit for that one, but as for the other 3, the attack in Texas was the case of a shooter who went mad. He was Islamic and that made a lot of reactionaries pass it off as terror. It was the US military to blame; he had been working with the military since Bush was president. The military is not a politically correct organization; I was shocked that in Texas more of his fellow military superiors wouldn’t have questioned him earlier. I would not consider this a terror attack. There have been plots in NC and in CO that were foiled under Obama’s watch, but at least they were caught! To say that these were actual attacks is ludicrous. Go to http://www.foxnews.com and check out Bill O’s link. You’ll see what I am talking about.
While MSNBC, CNN and all the other major news stations focus on finding loved ones, helping, and showing all the relief efforts after the earthquake in Haiti for Fox news, it was business as usual. Even though you won’t be able to stand what they are actually saying, you should go to http://www.foxnews.com and look at what was discussed in the Weds, and Thurs on both Hannity, and the O’Reilly Factor. Hannity and O’Reilly continued bashing Obama’s health care program, promoting killing reform, discussing what a bad campaigner Martha Coakley in the Mass special election is, and than you can see Princess Palin on thursday night’s hannity. You’ll also see Karl Rove predicting huge Democratic losses in 2010. Fox news cannot get away with this insensitivity especially after a international disaster.
Meanwhile what does MSNBC and CNN have, footage about the earthquake in Haiti. Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow who love to entertain liberals by having some conservative idiots like Rush Limbaugh, Palin, John Boehner, and many other conservatives to poke fun at. They didn’t do that last week. While they could have been attacking Scott Brown in Mass, and focusing on all the GOP tricks to defeat health care, they had class to show the human concern of a grave tragedy in a very poor country. Fox owners, personalities and staff do not have a conscience, they do not know the appropriate times to show their human side. They are cruel and in humane people, and I hope to god that other media stations can’t condemn them for this insensitivity.
I’ve been trying to figure out the ajenda of these individuals and their employer. I’m concerned that this factual fabrication has more motivation than just simple rep vs dem. A division is being formed with hatrid and fear as the Catalyst. Amongst this confusion what is it we don’t see.
Since it went on the air, Fox News Channel has been a wholly owned subsidiary of the Republican National Committee with Rupert Murdoch propped up as a straw man owner. From 1996 – 2001 the RNC provided Fox with “news and content”. After the corrupt bought and paid for Supreme Court Justices appointed Bush as President, the White House provided “news and content” Since Obama has taken office, the content is provided in part by the RNC and Dick Cheney. The Agenda is to destroy Obama presidency and then take the country back so we can have more years of misery and suffering.
thank you for the time you put in to produce such valuable information that will definitely make me have a good day today. time to dump on fox
The content of this site and the attacks on other people as opposed to the facts that could be used to justify your points actually show how the majority of the posters are guilty of drinking too much Kool-Aid! The far Left rhetoric is all that’s discussed…the people have the ability to see through the rhetoric, and go to Fox News because they actually discuss the issues. Fox News covers the facts, and in the chance they make a mistake, the guilty party is quick to apologize and make their error known. As an American you have the right to take advantage of any opportunity, but not a right to a guaranteed result. In order to accomplish success you must work at it. Before trying to break people down, first be sure to acknowledge truthful facts as facts even if they don’t agree with your belief of a policy…the facts will set you free! Dr. Adrian Rogers said it best,
“You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.”
~~~~~ Dr. Adrian Rogers, 1931 – 2005 ~~~~~
JF, You are yet another example of a Fox News zealot who doesn’t bother reading the content of the site, but would rather assume that, because we point out falsehoods and outright lies from Fox News, it has anything to do with left vs. right. This is right vs. wrong.
You state, “Fox News covers the facts, and in the chance they make a mistake, the guilty party is quick to apologize and make their error known.” That’s ample proof that you don’t know the facts about Fox News – that they rarely admit mistakes and it takes days, weeks or months to do so, if ever. Furthermore, they create BS policies to prevent mistakes that they have no intention of enforcing.
Ever since Fox News Channel went on the air, they have been a wholly owned subsidiary of the Republican National Committe, with Rupert Murdoch propped as the Straw Man owner. From 1996 until the illegal appointment of Georg W. Bush as Puppet President, the RNC provided Marching Orders, Talking Points and any other content for Fox News on a daily basis. From 2001 until 2009, Roger Ailes went to the White House everyday to get all of the days content from Co-President Cheney. Since President Obama took office, the RNC is now back to suppying everything to Fox.
Fox News doesn’t play by the rules. There is always a censorship of many elements of social change on all the corporate media outlets. From CNN to even MSNBC, there have been foreign regimes friendly to US capitalistic fatcats in third world countries, where human rights violations were not shown by the mainstream media. This happened especially in the 1980′s. Any regime that was not communist was never portrayed as evil as those who were communist.
I am waiting for the day a Michael Moore movie is shown on MSNBC or any other network for that matter? Is it because he doesn’t want his movies shown on corporate media stations or is it a form of censorship. Lets face it, you had the anti-choice super bowl ad on tv, but many ads that MOve On. org and other peace organizations, and probably some health reform ads were censored by the corporate media. I know for a fact that a few years ago a anti-war ad was not shown during the super Bowl. This is why American capitalism is protected at all costs by the corporate media.
Even though Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddow and otehr progressives on MSNBC speak out for justice and against racism, homophobia, the health insurance robber barons and the Christian right, I think there are other things such as Michael Moore Movies that the corporate media is afraid to show.
Someone in my family watched Fox news a lot after 9/11 and i seriously started having nightmares of the 3rd Reich. The previous commenter is exactly right that the RNC did provide marching orders to Fox news, and they were convinced from day one after the attacks that Sadaam, Bin Ladin, Al quada and other Islamic groups were all tied together.
Thanks for posting the lists. This is what I was looking for. None of them are perfect, but Fox is the worst. I love to watch football, but this year I didn’t watch one game that was on Fox. I will do the same next year.
We can boycott Fox news all we want and I am glad people like us are speaking up against misinformed myths to decieve uneducated people that have been created by big insurance, wall street and religious conservatives who don’t seem to care about the future of our country. They don’t care about the fact America is ranked below some developing countries in life expectancy; they don’t care that we are 38th in the world in health care. They don’t care we are ranked extremely low in education and literacy.
Nevertheless, if health reform doesn’t pass this year, I am not sure if it ever will. We won’t be able to blame Fox news this time around. Even Huckabee himself thinks health care will pass. If it doesn’t pass this time we can blame the pandering pro-lifers in the house, who still believe the senate bill will provide abortions. We can blame the fiscal conservative hypcrites in the house who have given us bullshit reasons why they didn’t vote for the bill. We also have some progressives who don’t think the health bill goes far enough. The Democrats have confused the American people so much that I won’t blame the GOP this time if it doesn’t pass.
