This is an excellent resource. I am planning to use the information to form a campaign against FoxNews. FoxNews may be powerful but htey are funded directly by the people. If they lose this funding, FoxNews will have no choice but to respond.
I can afford to NOT shop at Wal mart. I’ve instructed my children that we do not support slave labor and business’ that hurt our community, if we can help it. They are not allowed to go into Wal Mart and when they get older and leave the house I will give them the extra money they may need to purchase their needs locally. ( probably an extra 10 or 20 bucks). I will do my best to boycott these business if I can. For instance I need to buy my daughter a computer for college in a year or so and Im guessing it will not be a Dell. I will write Dell and tell them that even though my first computer was a Dell because of their affiliation with FOX News, I’ll take my business elsewhere.
Where is a concise, A to Z list that can be mailed around?
I trust Fox news,and Jesus Christ. I shop at Walmart sometimes, I own dell stuff, I don’t trust nbc,cbs or abc or people that do. I’m older than most of you and I know what it takes to maintain life and security.
Too bad you are so unhappy with your life. Chill, and stop trying to convince others to be like you.
~~~~~ROMNEY FOR PRESIDENT~~~
Bart, I do trust NBC and ABC. They actually report the news–not just give commentary. In all fairness, Fox doesn’t employ educated newsmen. They employ personalities with a particular bias–Republican. If you want to continue to delude yourself listening to their rhetoric that’s your business but I’m old and demand more journalistic credibility.
Anyone that trust Fox News is simply un-informed, it amazes me to see how many people choose to bury their head in the sand and not do any of the research them- selves. It is so clear to anyone that is educated, that Fox only delivers only opinions and dis-information. Where are all the real America’s?
i too, never shop walmart. and i also plan on emailing those on the list that i would shop, but will not anymore.
You have got to be kidding! This is a joke, right? FOX has too many sponsors to be hurt and no one can boycott all. Who can afford to never shop at Wal Mart? Who can afford to switch any company if it is going to cost them more directly that they cannot afford?
However, being more realistic: SIMPLY VOTE ALWAYS FOR THE ABSOLUTE POOREST CANDIDATE. Thereby you can always be certain of not voting for a candidate who is owned by the corporations.
Let the corporations waste their profits on FOX and by default candidates who thereby lose and the corporations lose their political power in turn. This is much easier than ineffectively boycotting a few sponsors with no hope of making a real dent in the political outcome.
(1) You don’t personally have to boycott everybody on the list, but when you have a choice, if you care, you chose a different product. Overall, I believe that’s the point of the list and to also allow you to notify your favorite manufacturers (and Fox) that when you have a choice, you’ll chose a competitors product.
(2) As far a Wal Mart goes, I never shop there and never have. And, I’d argue that I can get just as good a price somewhere else. Additionally, I don’t overconsume. I’d rather have one higher quality, higher priced item than five lower quality, cheaper priced items. I’m sure there are some people that have no other choice than Wal Mart, but that is not the vast majority of consumers. It seems, to me at least, that many people have become overconsumers and Wal Mart et al cater to that mentality.
I have not stepped into a walmart for years.
I’m quite pleased with that, the place sucks anyhow. I can afford to shop somewhere else.
No responsible American shops at Walmart! When a corporation does not conduct it’s self in a responsible manor, the ONLY way to punish them , is to withhold your support of them. that is the ONLY language they understand. I am so tired of hearing LAZY Americans whine that they Just can’t Blah,blah,blah. Walmart IS NOT YOUR FRIEND!!!
While I’m completely in agreement with the heart of what you’re saying, I’d ask you (at a crucial juncture in political opportunity) to avoid saying things like, “no responsible American shops at Walmart.” There are many people, esp. in small towns, that have little to no concept of the ideas that we’re discussing here. And really, even if they did…well, show a little empathy until you’ve walked the 25 miles between their abandoned downtown and the nearest Walmart (i.e. sign of life).
Nicely put, Eliza.
WalMart killed their small main street, put many local families out of business effectively turning successful small business owners (for which the Republicans swear their alleged love) into minimum wage, bordering on poverty, WalMart employees. Over and over I have seen competitive pricing research that shows that there is virtually no difference between Walmart, Kmart, Target, and any warehouse grocery store. They all do matching prices… they all do coupons… No one has to shop at only one store… Yes there are people who live far away from any significant shopping areas… but they often have chosen to live in bony-ville ranches in Montana. Not being a jerk… but there is competition all over the country. Be smart about where you spend your money…
Two things: I agree it’s a daunting task, one I’m just beginning myself, but to say boycotting these companies is ineffective is just an echo of the commonly-held belief that one person cannot make a difference. People, have some common sense and understand that you need to get out there and advertise (no pun intended), to your friends and others, the fact that you’re boycotting companies for their irresponsible support of big-blowhard-network-calling-itself-a-news-channel. That’s how you gather momentum. Second point: I agree about voting, as that’s the official channel to register your political beliefs; and I kind of agree about the whole underdog thing, but don’t just blindly assume if they’re the poorest (moneywise) candidate that they’re the one to vote for. If that caught on en masse, it could be a disaster as big corporations further try to hide their support of candidates and politicians get into a contest of “who’s poorer” to pander to voters in yet another way. Vote on their issues and read about all the propositions and vote your conscience.
Capitalist pig!
There should just be a “capitalist pig” button like the “like” button seen on Facebook.
Even many of the people employed by fox find the company perspective skewed and offensive. fox after all isn’t a news organization, it’s a business and one which makes a lot of money. There is money in controversy. It’s sad that in the last 40 years, real news has taken a back seat to profit. News was best when it was a cost center, not a profit center and done as a public service. It’s sad that some of the most impartial news is now on comedy central.
It would be virtually IMPOSSIBLE to boycott EVERY company that advertises on Fox, unless you didn’t own a car, made your own clothes from fibrous plants you grow yourself, grew your own food & never shopped at a grocery store, didn’t have a phone, didn’t have a computer, and lived on Mars or somewhere like that.
I’ll gladly boycott the ones that I CAN, and encourage friends as well, but some of these companies I’m loyal to and will remain so. Besides, these companies advertise on almost every other TV channel there is, and I’m not so sure if all these companies actually choose which channels they advertise on, or if it’s done by a third party.
I agree with Vicky’s comment, boycott what you can. I’d also add though that it may be worth a little extra effort to get out of your comfort zone and go ahead and boycott some of those that you think you cannot. I also agree with the fact that a lot advertise on other networks, and to that I say, somewhere, they DID have a choice not to advertise on Fox News Channel, but they went ahead and let the almighty buck decide for them. After all, probably some companies choose not to advertise on certain networks for OTHER reasons, so why not a blatant one like this? Likewise, I’ve seen some of the commercials on Fox have a special conservative “spin” on them to the point of being “in your face right wing”, so let’s all make an extra effort to boycott as many as possible.
I say we should concentrate on just one to five of the companies, let them know they are on the list and that we will target others. If we can affect the profits and they know that it is their tie to Fox, believe me they will with draw their advertising, or at least cut it. I nominate AT&T to be the first!
Dang! I like my iPhone! :-/
You act like there is nowhere to get food other than kroger, nowhere to buy clothes other than walmart. Jesus christ… way to reveal yourself as the lowest common denominator. By this logic you are either a FOX SPONSOR FANBOY, or a mountain-dwelling vagabond. Idiocy.
There are plenty of places to get cars, food, computers and clothes that are not on this list.
Those of you who have written here that you like Fox and will use the list to help you select what products to buy: that is fine.
Some of the money you spend on those products is used to pay for the ads that support Fox, so I assume you don’t mind that your money is going to pay salaries of Beck, Hannity, O’Reilly, and profits to Murdoch etc.
HOWEVER, many of us see Fox spread lies and vitriol and hatred and that the Australian who owns Fox is doing a lot of harm to America, turning us against each other. We don’t want our money to be used to make Murdoch rich or to pay the salaries of Beck, Hannity, O’Reilly, Palin etc. We are therefore not buying products that give our hard-earned money to support Fox.
Eloquently stated. As a true American who loves my country, I fully support this comment.
We really do have tremendous power as consumers if we act collectively. I will try to concentrate on particular sponsors and send emails to all.
General Motors is an exception. They should be emailed.. but there is a lot at stake for that company to succeed for Americans in general.
It’s important to “Do Something” and make it known – send the companies an email letting them know how disappointed you are in them for supporting a network who’s sole purpose is to undermine the United States of America. Every voice counts.
Is this list still being updated on a regular basis by the way? I would love to know that. I’m not a big fan of Fox News either. That channel is just a terrible waste of time.
Do many of the people who watch Fox care about it being balanced and fair? I’d like to think so but I’m not so sure.
It’s not so much that some people don’t care, it’s that the methods Fox employs present Fox as the only unbiased and truth-telling news organization. Some people who watch Fox exclusively lose their critical thinking ability and simply believe Fox is fair and balanced and get caught up in the tide without knowing it – think propaganda…think Nazi Germany.
Wasn’t mentioned in here, but HULU is owned by newscorp, nbc and disney. Probably one of the most popular web channels, not watching this (the content is so abundant elsewhere) would represent a pretty big dip in ad revenue.
Great list! It’s good to know who’s supporting fox news. Thanks again, keep up the good work.
With all that has gone on with the GM in the past year or so, they can barely stand another hit. I hope they take notice of how this could impact their business .But at least it gives the viewer a choice. I feel that most of the information they present is accurate and when I get tired of the rant & rave of Hanity.
I can’t stand Fox news at all. We have bought two Chevy impalas in the past. I need to replace my mini-van, and I definitely will not be replacing it by a Chevy or any other car manufacturers who advertise on Faux news. No more Clorox wipes for me. No more campbell’s soup for me. No more Dannon Yogurt for me. I’m going to print out this list and keep it with me while I do my shopping. I will choose Home Depot over Lowes every time from now on.
As far as I’m concerned my mother can quit taking Aricept, too. It doesn’t work, anyway. Fox news had filled a lot of senior citizens with hate, fear, and anger. Shame on them. Bill O’Reilly wants to conduct a drug test before people vote. I’d like to conduct a dementia test before these scared senior citizens vote. I’d like to conduct a dementia test on the pundits on Fox News.
Murdoch owns some pretty lame newspapers around the world and his TV stations aren’t noted for their quality output but Fox surely takes the biscuit. It’s heartening to see people prepared to do something about it and boycott the money that drives it.
As a dedicated dog and cat lover and trainer I was sorry to see that IAMS is on the list. I have already taken action and stopped using it for my own pets. I will also no longer recommend it to my clients. I am writing to Procter and Gamble to tell them so and why I have done it.
Unfortunately I am writing this from an HP computer. I cannot do much about that immediately apart from writing to them but I will tell them that I don’t intend to buy another if they continue to support Fox News .
To be honest, I do not like Fox news at all. I just want useful news not
to pay salaries of Beck, Hannity, O’Reilly, and profits to Murdoch etc.
consider them all boycotted
It would be a good idea if everybody would post this URL on Facebook or Twitter.
I just wanted you to know that my family and I will be boycotting your products until you stop advertizing on Fox News.
http://foxnewsboycott.com/
Sincerely,
I currently don’t do business with any of these companies (A – L) . I have been doing really good not rewarding the people who support Fox and News Corp.
i don’t like foxnews so i will not buy any products from these company
I will do anything in my power to NOT buy from any of these companies! But more needs to be done to get them OFF the air! I think somehow we can do it!!!
Unfortunately many of the ISPs are on this list, and most of us only have one or two choices, thanks to our lovely FCC and the political system that allowed the Telecoms to destroy Local Loop Unbundling in most of the US. Meanwhile every other place in the world where they have LLU, there’s healthy competition in that sector . . . ** sigh! **
Yeah, the list is way too long to boycott those companies included. But this whole thing (boycotting Fox advertisers) is reasonably new. If pressure is kept on Faux News by other means, then some of those companies may start to sort themselves out if they get the idea that their advertising money is doing more harm than good. Then we’ll have fewer and fewer targets.
Advertisement supported media is almost always inherently flawed, in principle and practice. This is outlined extremely well in Heilbroner’s “The Nature and Logic of Capitalism” a must-read for anyone living in the first world.
There are only a few advertisers whose products I even use, but I have sent them emails telling them FOX advertisers are being boycotted(though not the source of the boycott) and urging them to discontinue advertising with them.
I just sent the following to at least 30 of Fox advertisers and I hope others will do the same:
Stop advertising on Fox! Fox News is responsible for the tragic events in Arizona yesterday. The commentators spout lies and messages of hate to it s largely uneducated viewers, who believe it. All of those on Fox, from Rupert Murdoch to Roger Ailes and down, are soaked in the blood of the 6 people who were murdered and 13 wounded. All for the sake of money and power. What a shame that all of that money and power is used for evil when so much good could be done with it. Your money is contributing to and continuing the hate mongering growing in this country.
There are too many sponsors to boycott them all. Boycotting the one advertiser which provides the most financial support to Fox News would make for a more strategic and effective boycott campaign.
I agree. I think targeted and aggressive boycotting would be more effective.
It is easy to avoid purchasing from all of these companies and I fully intend to do so. There are many smaller and more local companies in your area that need and deserve your business. Shop local.
I stopped watching T.V. altogether 15 years ago but keep up with the news on the internet. Soon i am afraid the days of unpolluted news on the net will come to a close unless people fight and decide they do not need the corporate garbage to survive. I do not support T.V. at all so that leaves out all Television sponsors out there who have one less person listening to their slimey commercials. As far as the other companies listed ,I am already boycotting most of these already due to environmental issues. People out there could change more than they know if they would kill their addictions to Television and all the so called material crap they have been brainwashed into believing they have to buy to be happy. { stop drinking the corporations kool-aid people } You let go of the the brainwash box you can let go of so much more that you don’t really need–think about it!
Yes…too many on the list. We can focus on 5 companies to start. Bombard them with phone calls, e-mails, faxes and postings. That should turn some heads.
Keep up the pressure on Fox and continue to hound their advertisers! We should also join in boycotting Koch Industries and the vast web of companies owned by the Koch brothers!
————
Here’s one of my comments on the Washington Post website, which is inundated with Koch-brother bankrolled propagandists, bigots, liars & fear-mongers:
KNOW YOUR ENEMY! The numerous teabagging propagandists on this site trying to muddy the waters, the flaming mouthpieces at Fox, and many other “lock & load” retards in places like Alaska and the Governors mansion in Arizona are ALL bankrolled by the Koch brothers! Maybe it’s time to put THEM in the cross-hairs!
GA Pacific lumber, Quilted Northern, Angel Soft, Brawny towels, Sparkle, Vaity Fair, Dixie Cups, Lycra, Teflon, etc.
We should also try to avoid Rupert Murdoch owned companies and the Fox Network because of the flaming rhetoric coming out of their mouthpieces.
It may be hard but IT’S TIME TO DRAIN THE SWAMP before another tragedy and especially as we gear up for the 2012 re-election cycle…KEEP UP THE PRESSURE AND ENLIST ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS & FAMILY!
Moving CapitalOne over to Citibank, looking for alternatives for TmeWarner Internet, moving ATT over to verizon when contract up in one month.
Do not use CITIbank, their base interest rate is now at 19.5%. There are MANY better bank cards available.
Hi
This list is what I have been looking for. It is time to stop Fox and affiliated businesses. Stop emotions, hear say and some say. Go for facts please.
I will do my part for sure.
Two things that might make the company list portable
- companies on one line or in compact print out format
- smart phone app with list that can be updated
International greetings
Robert H.
The point is not to boycott every company on the list. That’s virtually impossible. There’s nothing keeping us from picking a few select candidates and boycott the hell out of them, until they realize that advertising (and thus financing) the Fox propaganda machine will cost them as much as it will gain them, but it will also damage their public standing.
Once those companies see the damage they will stop or reduce their investment in Fox – while others will realize that Fox is bad for their image and will stop advertising there by themselves. Once we create and attach a living stigma to the idea of advertising on Fox, the work is done.
A lot of current advertisers on Fox already refuse to have their ads aired e.g. during Glen Becks show. That shows us that they are aware of what this does to their public image, and that they don’t want to be associated with it. Let’s extend this to all of Fox’s programming, and also to anything Koch industries is involved with. Money is the only thing that corporations care about, and losing revenues will make them change loyalties really quick.
Remember – we’re not trying to defeat the companies, we’re after Fox. Once they stop supporting Fox we will reconsider buying their products.
So in short – try to buy from alternative suppliers whenever possible. Just add “Advertises on Fox” to your list of daily shopping-criteria like price or quality, and pick a few companies to avoid altogether. If you can’t afford cutting out Wal-Mart simply don’t. If you work for AT&T and don’t want to harm your own employer – simply don’t. Others will, so instead boycott someone else.
Let’s kill the snake that is threatening our democracy using the weapons at our disposal. Don’t threaten with violence – threaten with falling stocks!
Excellent ideas.
Seems like the boycott has been really effective t nihe past few years, keep it up!
I did not know there was a boycott in progress. We need to get the word out.
If you will post on CURRENT T.V.s website I think we can start doing a better job of getting FOX News to take notice of this movement.
Great idea, but the others are correct that this is impossible to boycott all. Now emailing them and telling them how despicable it is for them to give money to fauxnews, that is something. I would like to see biggest $$ givers though, that may help in some boycotting.
THE TIME TO HIT ‘EM HARD IS NOW!
They are reeling, got to get ‘em on the ropes from the knock out punch.
You got this on youtube? In any case, I will do list in a vid.
Got my skinning knife and barbeque ready; wonder what fox tastes like!
I am alerting you that I and 6 sisters, 1 sister-in-law my daughter and my daugher in law are no longer buying products or using products put out by your adverising people. I cannot in good conscience support you Fox News or your supporters due to the fact that you are going to allow Casey Anthony to profit from the murder of her daughter. I refuse to reward her for killing that little girl and then walking free -
We need an updated list. Cingular became ATT 4 years ago. Are these guys still advertising with FOX or just left on here? I have changed a number of my shopping habits based on this list, and I hope I am not punishing companies for their actions years ago.
i noticed my insurance company, USAA, advertising on FOX recently. Have dropped several of their products, but they are not on the list.
No fair! Boycott Fox News!?! Are you trying to put stand up comedians out of business? Times are hard. Comedians have to eat too.
And then on a more serious list…what does the list for other news channels look like…is it considerably better?
Protests are great, but if you really want to stick it to the man and get noticed, vote with your wallet.
I’ll do my best to boycott the companies who advertise on Fox News.
Just do a quick check of the scam company they run ads for
directbuy google with the word scam in the search
many of the other advertisers show similar results
fox news has no compunction about getting ad money from rip off companies,
I would suggest picking one company per month and publicizing it. Any more than that the protest loses focus. A good book to read is by the great Republican bugaboo Saul Alinsky. “Rules for Radicals” outlines how to perform a protest of this kind. You freeze a single opponent and emphasize how they violate their own book of rules. A good choice would be a consumer company, such as Campbell’s Soup, Liberty Mutual, or Kraft. Wal-Mart may be too big and too many people depend on them. Also, they have been harassed by the left.
Current TV advertises on FOX. Should we boycott Al Gore’s network. Bye Bye Keith Obermann.
Email your displeasure to those you can’t boycott.
Great list! It’s good to know who’s supporting fox news. Thanks again, keep up the good work
Believe me FOX NEWS has my number after I placed on their Facebook page this message. “I’m sure FOX is really proud of all the staff graduates with top honors form the “Joesph Gobbells School of Right Wing Propaganda”. Sounds harsh but after years of preaching lies and treason this old boy is fed up.
I think it was the “Joseph Goebbels School of Right Wind Propaganda”
http://www.debone.com/boycottFoxNewsSponsors.html this is a good place to contact these companies with ease!
Thanks… if Everyone just went to the fb page of each of the companies listed, and expressed your feelings that they should Stop advertising, when they hear it enough, they will be forced to act… That is how Capitolism works… WE have the ability to take Fox Down… WE Are the consumers of those products… thanks…
I like Fox News and I buy from most of their advertisers. What do you have against them? I’d be willing to bet that most of you are college age.
Folks, if you are going to be honest with yourselves do you think boycotting Fox News with end media bias? Do you honestly believe MSNBA, CNN, CBS, NBC & ABC are not completely biased to the other side? I respect your opinion and will not deny the conservative viewpoint of Fox News however if it werent for their voice there would be no counterpoint to the message set out by our media. We all benefit by freedom of the press and free speach. These freedoms are envied by our enemies abroad and drives them to hate us. That is where the focus of our efforts should lie. We need unity in this country like we had in the days of our fathers and grandfathers when we fought together for freedom during W.W.II. We need to wake up and start giving a hoot about getting back some pride, going back to work and caring about each other as a brotherhood of US citizens. Now is a time for unity not deviseveness. Let’s go back to being a great country with pride and patriotism and genuine regard and respect for one another.
Know a manager at BMW. I just sent him an email asking him if he could do his part.
Fox news is prime example of poisoning the minds of some unfortunate people. We must boycott ther sponsors and shut them off.
