Leave it to Fox News to report pure hearsay as fact, especially if it’s regarding Fox News, or from Rush Limbaugh, or both. Supposedly, a 18 year old Michigan high school student called into Rush Limbaugh’s radio show and complained that his teacher scolded him for reading FoxNews.com. From the article, Fox News did not get a direct statement from the student, they did not find out which teacher, nor did they have a first hand account from anybody. Also important to note is that the student never made a complaint through the school, so the only record of this is a more-or-less anonymous call to Rush Limbaugh. Wow.

Why would a student, with his own future in mind, even consider filing a complaint against his teacher who has the power (and probably weilds it “liberally”) to fail this student?
Unfortunately, so many of our institutions no longer educate, but indoctrinate.
Devlin, it’s called doing the right thing, but I guess you don’t believe in that? Obviously, you have some irrational fear of a “liberal” institution that wants to “indoctrinate” everyone, rather than take corrective action against a teacher.
This brings up a point about the hypocrisy I see in such arguments – Either teachers have all the power when you accuse them of being “liberal” and “indoctrinating” our youth, or the teachers are powerless to correct the deviance of our youth because schools are so scared of their teachers overstepping the slightest line… Which one is it? You wouldn’t pick and choose depending on the issue, would you?
