I contact a certain number of Fox sponsors about every day. I think if we keep doing this long enough, and do not buy their products , they will get the message that hate speech and coded racism and promoting an aristocracy , are not really where it’s at. Let ‘s persevere in this valuable service to our country.

Unfortunately Lowe’s is still prominently advertising on Glenn Beck’s Thursday web cast he hosts after the regular Fox News show (which was cut short today) and really should not be listed as completely boycotting Beck’s folly.

I have been watching Beck’s show closely this past week and find him to be a master of sophistry (subtly deceptive reasoning or argumentation) in his manipulation of facts and use of “hot” words. He is clearly engaging in fear mongering, targeting vulnerable, frightened people. Unfortunately, his excellent propagandist techniques will be very attractive to people who could easily become dangerously convinced “something needs to be done.”

I can’t decide if I’m watching a car wreck of a guy bordering on a breakdown or a brilliantly calculating capitalist promoting his book revenues and driving up his appearance fees.

Althought many of these companies might still advertise on Fox News, feel free to send them thank you notes. At least it is a step in the right direction. The Beck circus is still inexplicably a popular show, so it does represent at least some sacrifice in these difficult times for them to pull their ads.

While Beck is only one element in Fox News’ relentless campaign of deception, it may be the worst element. Degrading the worst could help to temper the most outrageous rhetoric of the remaining characters.

Thank you for supplying the List of 48 Companies! As the list grows, I do hope it will be frequently updated in a form that includes the entire list.

It would also be helpful to include a running list of those that continue to advertise on Beck’s show.

This is apart from the list of those that continue to advertise on Fox News in general.
