Shepard Smith apologized to viewers of Studio B for “lack of balance.” Fox News correspondent Shannon Bream surprised Smith with an impromptu interview with GOP candidate for Governor of New Jersey, Chris Christie. Smith replied by asking about an interview with Christie’s Democratic opponent.

SMITH: When will you be interviewing Jon Corzine?

BREAM: We have multiple requests, and when it comes through, we’ll let you know

[...]

SMITH: Wow, I didn’t know that was about to happen. My apologies for the lack of balance there. If I had had control, it wouldn’t have happened.

Incidentally, Smith provided his analysis of the polls showing Christie far behind, but the on-screen graphic read, “NJ GOV CANDIDATES LOCKED IN DEAD HEAT.”
