Glenn Beck Supported Bush’s $700 Billion Bailout

You’ve got to wonder how many Glenn Beck fans who religiously repeat the “socialism” mantra and post so-called “facts” like “Wall Street owns our government,” are aware that Beck supported the $700 billion bailout when it was Bush doing the spending…

BECK: But these are anything but normal times. I thought about it an awful lot this weekend, and while it takes everything in me to say this, I think the bailout is the right thing do.

The “REAL STORY” is the $700 billion that you’re hearing about now is not only, I believe, necessary, it is also not nearly enough, and all of the weasels in Washington know it.

Fast forward to a few months after Obama has been in office and, suddenly, it becomes, “Our government and these gigantic corporations have merged.”

GM CEO Stands Up To Glenn Beck, Defends UAW

GM CEO Fritz Henderson was on Glenn Beck’s show yesterday and fielded questions about the government’s involvement in GM after the bailout, stating that they appreciate the support and the government has not meddled in their business. Beck also didn’t expect Henderson to defend the United Auto Workers (UAW).

When Beck claimed that the unions are “strangling” GM, Henderson shot him down:

“They’ve been more part of the solution than the problem… yes, we have significant legacy costs that we’re trying to address. Frankly, they’re trying to help us address those issues at the same time… I view the unions are more part of the solution than the problem. Me personally.”

All Beck could say in response was, “Wow, OK.”
