Fox News Warns Democrats About Patriotic Music

Various Fox News personalities have been fixating on what they call an attempt to “kill” their patriotic music. Here is what they had to say, then check the whole truth below.

BRET BAIER: “[T]he House of Representatives today faced the music and reversed a decision to kill the patriotic tunes callers hear when they’re put on hold.”

SEAN HANNITY: “Now, up until now, you probably have been enjoying lovely patriotic tunes. Well, that is until Nancy Pelosi had anything to say about it. Under the current Democratic leadership, patriotic music was replaced with smooth jazz elevator music.”

STEVE DOOCY: “[I]n what has got to go down as one of the most boneheaded moves of the summer, which is now concluding as we approach Labor Day, apparently Nancy Pelosi and the House leadership had said … we’re going to have a test project where, for three weeks, we’re going to get rid of the patriotic music.”

So, what’s really going on? There is no conspiracy to eliminate patriotic music. House Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Daniel Beard’s spokesman Jeff Ventura had this to say:

The music was changed during recess as a pilot program in an attempt to offer offices a choice of hold music. [...]

This had nothing to do with the leadership — not in the beginning or the final outcome.

Fox News Falsehood About Pelosi Calling Protesters Nazis

Gregg Jarrett, an anchor on Fox News, falsely claimed that Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi “sort of suggested that any American citizen who dared voice an objection in a protest is a Nazi, apparently based on one isolated incident.”

The truth is that she’s never called a protester a Nazi, compared a protesters to Nazis, or anything of the sort. What she really said, at more than “one isolated incident” is that some protesters turning out at Town Hall meetings were carrying signs with swastikas and Nazi-related symbols.

JARRETT: First of all, in the beginning, Pelosi sort of suggested that any American citizen who dared voice an objection in a protest is a Nazi, apparently based on one isolated incident. But now, she’s stepped it up and she’s labeling protesters “un-American.” Isn’t that destructive rather than constructive?

What Nancy Pelosi really said:

PELOSI: I think they’re Astroturf; you be the judge. They’re carrying swastikas and symbols like that to a town meeting on health care.

And it’s absolutely true.

And it’s not just signs – vandals have struck Congressman David Scott’s (D-GA) office and spray painted a large swastika over his name.

It’s Patriotic Duty To Stop Glenn Beck, According to Beck

On August 3, 2009 Glenn Beck stated, “[i]f anyone thinks that it would be a good idea to turn violent, think again,” adding that “[i]f you ever hear someone thinking about or talking about turning violent, it is your patriotic duty to stop them.”

On August 6, 2009 Glenn Beck joked about putting poison in Nancy Pelosi’s wine (see transcript below) and video here.

So, when is Fox News going to stop Glenn Beck? It is, after all, their patriotic duty, and Glenn Beck agrees.

BECK: So, Speaker Pelosi, I just wanted to — you gonna drink your wine? Are you blind? Do those eyes not work? There you — I want you to drink it now. Drink it. Drink it. Drink it.

I really just wanted to thank you for having me over here to wine country. You know, to be invited, I thought I had to be a major Democratic donor or a longtime friend of yours, which I’m not.

By the way, I put poison in your — no, I — I look forward to all the policy discussions that we’re supposed to have — you know, on health care, energy reform, and the economy.

Hey, is that Sean Penn over there? I know it cost me more than $30,000 to get in here, but hey. Hey, I think I see Ed Markey, the author of cap and trade, right over there.

Glenn Beck Jokes About Poisoning Nancy Pelosi

After Rachel Maddow talks about Rush Limbaugh making a baseless comparison of President Obama to Nazism, she shows a clip of a Glenn Beck skit where he offers Speaker Pelosi some wine, poisoned… When did murder and assassination become stuff jokes are made of in the media? I suspect the Secret Service has taken an interest in this atrocious behavior.

Karl Rove Calls Nancy Pelosi ‘Torture’ Accomplice

In the soap opera of American politics, we’ve seen countless stories about torture and who knew what, when. It’s almost incestuous. Let’s see if I get this right… it’s a little twisted: Democrats charge that Republicans, specifically the Bush Administration, was behind the the approval of torture methods, such as waterboarding. Republicans counter that it was the CIA who misinformed them, or didn’t inform them at all, about what was really going on. CIA disputes this and claims that Republicans and Democrats alike knew about and approved of what was going on.

Enter Nancy Pelosi, who is quoted as saying, “We were not — I repeat — were not told that waterboarding or any of these other enhanced interrogation methods were used” and Karl Rove, who just wrote an article for the Wall Street Journal, a News Corp. publication, which is now linked to on The Fox Nation web site. He claims, “Nancy Pelosi was an accomplice to ‘torture’” and “she not only agreed with what was being done, she apparently pressed the CIA to do more.” Accomplice is defined as “A cooperator; An associate in the commission of a crime.” In other words, Mr. Rove seems to imply that others should be charged for ordering torture, such as those in the Bush Administration, including himself. What a tangled web…
