Rupert Murdoch Wants Other Papers to Collude With WSJ

Rupert Murdoch‘s News Corp., which owns the Wall Street Journal, has reached out to other newspapers, such as the Los Angeles Times, New York Times, Washington Post and Hearst Corp. Since Murdoch’s decision to charge users to access content on the Wall Street Journal’s web site, he has apparently realized that it will only work if the other big players make the same decision. So, he wants to create a consortium that would charge for online news and also sue anyone that uses content for more than fair use. This, essentially, amounts to price fixing and publishers want antitrust laws changed so they can survive.

Fox News Andrew Napolitano: Bush May Be a Felon

In a May 8 broadcast, Former district court judge Andrew Napolitano, now a Fox News commentator, comments on a New York Times article about the Bush Administration authorizing torture. Napolitano agrees that, if the NY Times article is accurate, then Bush “committed a felony for each act of torture he authorized and which was carried out.”

“We’re a country of laws and not of men. And when people break the law, no matter what their motivation is, they should be prosecuted. Would a jury take into account the motivation? Of course it would. But is the motivation a defense to law breaking? It is not.”

Shocking: O’Reilly Producer is a Hypocrite

If you recall, Jesse Watters is a producer of The O’Reilly Factor who was recently involved in the harassment of ThinkProgress writer Amanada Terkel. The hypocritical producer, whose apparent job includes stalking people and ambushing them to further O’Reilly’s agenda. Over 80% of the past dozen targets have been considered liberal or critical of Republicans.

Well, one could call this irony, but it’s really not unexpected… The New York Times tried, repeatedly, to interview Jesse Watters. Watters repeatedly denied. You see, that’s not irony. It’s simply hypocrisy.
