Heavily Armed Glenn Beck Fan & Tea Bagger Arrested at National Guard Base

Nancy Genovese, paranoid about FEMA camps, was arrested for trespassing at an Air National Guard Base, while scouting out and photographing the base, armed with a shotgun, a XM-15 assault rifle and 500 rounds of ammunition. This is after she had previously questioned base guards and had been warned for weeks to stay off the base property

You can check out her affinity for Glenn Beck and right wing militancy at her archived MySpace page, on which she posted, “He is mad as hell and so are we. He is right and so are we. ” along with a Glenn Beck video. She also called for a boycott of MSNBC, CNN, ABC, CBS & NBC. But, that’s not all… she also twittered about tea bagging, which we all know Fox News and Glenn Beck helped promote.

The video shows the following statement from Beck, which is a clear indication of a direct connection between Genovese’s paranoia and Beck’s fear mongering.

BECK: We are coming. We will be heard. We will be represented. You think that we are so busy with our lives that we will never come for you. And we were. But now you’ve gone and done it. We are the formally silent majority, all of us. Quietly work, pay our taxes, obey the laws, vote, save money, keep our noses to the grindstone – now looking up at you. You have awakened us, and a patriotic spirit so strong and so powerful. It had been sleeping too long. You have pushed us too far.

Update: Please see below for comments by Nancy Genovese that clear up much of the misinformation presented by media sources. The charges have been dropped and she has filed a claim for wrongful arrest.

Glenn Beck & Fox News Promoting Tea Parties. Again.

Glenn Beck joined Fox & Friends this morning to promote another round of tea bagging to protest Barack Obama & taxes, which will be held on the 4th of July. Like previous tea parties, these are being organized by the lobbyist-run groups Americans for Prosperity and FreedomWorks, with the help of Fox News, of course. Fox News has even run segments with Gov. Mark Sanford (R-SC) to promote the tea parties.

So, why is Glenn Beck suggesting that people spend the 4th of July protesting what’s wrong with America? Last year (while Bush was still in office) he suggested, in an op-ed, that we should celebrate by not talking about our problems, but rather about what’s right with our country. He also suggested that the day be used to take a break from talking about “crooked politicians.” Is that an admission that Bush was a crooked politician, but Obama is not?

Janeane Garafalo Handles Ambush on Fox News

Coming out of Starbucks, minding her own business, Janeane Garafalo was ambushed with with questions about her comments regarding the Tea Party protesters being “racist rednecks.” She handled herself well and turned the table by pointing out some of the offensive signs and asking, several times, “Why were they not protesting for the last eight years under the Bush spending?”

Might I also point out the irony that it was Greta Van Susteren who aired the video. That’s right, Van Susteren, who recently denounced ambush journalism when she was watching over Todd Palin at the White House Correspondents Dinner.

Hannity Wrong – Garafalo Not Tea Bagged At Gig

Late last month Sean Hannity, upset about comedian Janeane Garafalo’s comments about the Tea Parties, predicted that tea baggers  planned “to give her a piece of their mind as a result of these disgraceful comments” – those comments being that Tea Party attendees were racist. Maybe they were out of tea bags, but there weren’t any protestors at her recent gig in Somerville, MA.

“If there are any tea baggers here, welcome, and white power,” she said to laughs, before darting into a commentary on thongs, Spanx and a 22-hour flight to Australia.

Tea Bagging the Tea Baggers

Predatory Angel Production, a gay adult entertainment company is asking people to tea bag the tea baggers on May 1, 2009. Participants who post pictures of their event are eligible for prizes including a year’s subscription to their magazines. The following is from the press release I received via email:

“I want the May first teabag event to be about gay marriage, environmental responsibility, corporate responsibility, immigration, better health care, and better schools.”

I don’t know how effective or publicised this event will be due to the nature of the company behind it, but I wish them luck. If you’d like more info on the event, email Aluria.

Fox News Upset About Tea Bagging Jokes

Apparently, it’s okay for Fox News to talk about “tea bagging,” but they cry foul when anyone else does. The following graphic and blurb are from the Fox News site.

Cable anchors and guests covered the anti-tax tea party protests across America by cracking a litany of barely concealed sexual references.

“Barely concealed sexual references” about a sexual reference made by Fox News personalities? You bet! I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if Fox News planned this:

  1. Use a sexual reference to promote Tea Parties
  2. Feign ignorance about its meaning
  3. Tea Party turnout is low across the country
  4. Play the victim and blame others for making jokes at their expense.

Tea Baggers Turned Away

I find this extremely funny… It turns out that Tea Party planners are having to come up with a Plan B and ,apparently, Plan C. Dumping Tea in the Potomac River is illegal, so Plan B was to move the dumping site to Lafayette Square, but protesters were turned away for not having a permit. They also didn’t have a permit to protest in front of the Treasury building… Time for Plan D?

Tea & Hypocrisy

It’s come to light that the people behind what is being billed as the “Fox News Channel Tax Day Tea Parties” are not the regular people with regular jobs organizing in a grass roots manner as they would have you believe. The Fox News personalities repeat, ad nauseum, the talking points about this unorganized grassroots movement. It turns out that the true organizers, besides Fox News, include FreedomWorks and Americans for Prosperity, a couple lobbying and public relations firms. And don’t forget about Glenn Beck’s $500 a plate fundraiser…

Note to TeaBaggers: Grassroots movements do not require lobbyists, public relations, fundraisers, “media” endorsement and promotion, etc. It’s called “astroturfing.”

Reader Submission: Tea Bagging

I received the following email and, since he’s already done an adequate job describing the… uh… issue at hand… I’ll leave it as-is.

I’m sure you know this but,  I doubt if the Douche Bags at Fox News are aware of the real definition of the term “Tea Bagging”. Hannity and Cavuto et/al, can’t wait to promote and take part in the big Tea  Bag Celebrations taking place on 4/15. If you ask any red blooded, beer  drinking, American guy, (under the age of 30), you’ll most  likely learn that “Tea Bagging” really means (the  usually drunken) act of dragging one’s Sweaty, Hairy, Scrotum over the unsuspecting face of a passed out or, sleeping  person!

I hope you’ll share this actual definition  with your audience before 4/15. It will put next week’s events in a proper  perspective. Keep up the great work!

Thanks J.G.
