Just when you think the Barack Obama birth certificate conspiracy nuts have put away their tin foil hats, Fox News brings the non-issue back to the forefront with an above-the-fold mention and graphic on their FoxNation web site.

This issue has been repeatedly debunked and dismissed. But for those of you “truthers” who still don’t get it, this probably won’t convince you… FactCheck.org, Politifact.com and FightTheSmears.com all provide evidence fo the Certification of Live birth, which has been validated by the State of Hawaii and is as good as the “long form birth certificate.”

How “fair and balanced” does Fox News look when their Fox Nation web site has the following headlines devoted to Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor:

That is a lot of front page space, many of which were main headlines, devoted to smearing Sonia Sotomayor.

I’d like to point out an example of Fox News bias and unfair reporting, specifically the “Wise Latinas Better Than White Males” headline made to look like a quote with the “Sotomayor:” preface. The actual quote is, “I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life.”

In the soap opera of American politics, we’ve seen countless stories about torture and who knew what, when. It’s almost incestuous. Let’s see if I get this right… it’s a little twisted: Democrats charge that Republicans, specifically the Bush Administration, was behind the the approval of torture methods, such as waterboarding. Republicans counter that it was the CIA who misinformed them, or didn’t inform them at all, about what was really going on. CIA disputes this and claims that Republicans and Democrats alike knew about and approved of what was going on.

Enter Nancy Pelosi, who is quoted as saying, “We were not — I repeat — were not told that waterboarding or any of these other enhanced interrogation methods were used” and Karl Rove, who just wrote an article for the Wall Street Journal, a News Corp. publication, which is now linked to on The Fox Nation web site. He claims, “Nancy Pelosi was an accomplice to ‘torture’” and “she not only agreed with what was being done, she apparently pressed the CIA to do more.” Accomplice is defined as “A cooperator; An associate in the commission of a crime.” In other words, Mr. Rove seems to imply that others should be charged for ordering torture, such as those in the Bush Administration, including himself. What a tangled web…

Ever since news broke about Obama’s criticism of Fox News and Tea Parties, Fox News, and Tea Baggers alike, have been up-in-arms calling Obama’s comments attacks or pot shots. The irony here is thick enough to cut with a knife… So, I make a little haiku that sums it up:

Fox can dish it out
Their attacks on Obama
But Fox can’t take it

The Fox Nation web site incorrectly reported that a group had given Barack Obama a C+ grade for his first 100 days in office. The article linked to the orinator of the rating, NationalJournal.com, which shows that the grade was, in fact, for the White House web site, WhiteHouse.gov, rather than Barack Obama himself. The group also gave Recovery.gov a C grade. Fox Nation, please stay after class…

This is just hilarious… The new Fox News site, The Fox Nation, has some promotional material (posters?) available as pdf files, one of which you can find below. They have the nerve to state, “IT’S TIME TO SAY NO TO BIASED MEDIA AND SAY YES TO FAIR PLAY AND FREE SPEECH.” Really, Fox News? Since yours is considered one of the most biased media outlets, I guess you’re suggesting people shouldn’t watch or visit Fox News or The Fox Nation… We agree.

Does anyone really expect Fox News to be “fair and balanced” anymore? With their new site called The Fox Nation, it looks like they’ve pulled even further away from that slogan… TheDeadbeat.org has taken a funny look at living in a “Fox News Nation.”

“Three days ago Lord Marshal Rupert Murdoch announced Fox’s secession to the United Nations in New York. Members of the UN Security Council immediately questioned how it was possible for a corporation to secede from anything. Murdoch responded by laughing maniacally for a full seven minutes and then obliterating the UN building with an orbital ion cannon.”
