Sean Hannity, speaking with former Bush adviser Nicolle Wallace, made an absurdly ridiculous claim, which, of course, was not refuted by Wallace, nor anyone else at Fox News.

HANNITY: George Bush who you worked for did not play golf while this country was at war. He didn’t want the families of loved ones serving, well, that they may have lost the loved ones seeing him on a golf course.

WALLACE: Yes, I mean…

HANNITY: He seemed to be far more in touch.

Remember, “We must stop the terror. I call upon all nations to do everything they can to stop these terrorist killers. Thank you. Now watch this drive.” and all the time spent in Crawford?

It’s been suggested that it wasn’t the war that made Bush cut down on his golfing, but rather doctor’s orders. Of course, two months after Bush said he quit playing golf (2003) he spent Columbus Day playing with “three long-time buddies” and also attended a golf fundraiser for John McCain in 2008. Condoleezza Rice; however, didn’t give up her game – where was Hannity to call her out-of-touch in 2008?

When President Obama spoke at West Point about sending more troops to Afghanistan, there were several instances where he mentioned success. However, Fox & Friends would have you believe he didn’t:

DOOCY: Interestingly enough, of the 4,581 words in his speech, one word was missing. That word was “win.”

Similarly, The Fox Nation web site states that there was no mention of “victory.” Here’s a screenshot:

Obviously Fox News is playing a petty game of semantics. In the future, perhaps, the President and his speech writers should try and figure out what word Fox News will try to use against him and then whip out the ol’ thesaurus (i.e. Win – v.: finish first, succeed, achieve, be first, be victorious, beat, carry the day, come in first, conquer, edge, finish in front, finish off, gain, gain victory, overcome, overwhelm, prevail, run circles around, shut out, sink, take the prize, triumph, upset, walk away with, walk off with).

Or not… A better idea would be to send a thesaurus to Fox News so they can look up synonyms for “win,” or “victory,” and not keep making the same idiotic mistakes, like they did with Obama’s stance on terrorism.

A month after Sean Hannity said he would be waterboarded to show his support for our troops, Erich “Mancow” Muller took up the challenge. Mancow called it off after six seconds and stated, emphatically, that waterboarding is “absolutely torture.” He made an appearance on Countown with Keith Olbermann and said that it’s worse than drowning and that he would have said anything to make it stop, thus proving that it’s an unreliable method of obtaining accurate information.

After the initial offer to be waterboarded, after Mancow “manned up” and took the challenge, and after Mancow declared that it is, in fact, torture, Sean Hannity still insists that it’s not. He called Mancow and told him, “It’s still not torture.” Mancow replied, “Sean, it is torture.”

Mancow also praised Olbermann and called him a “stand up guy” for donating $10,000 to the Veterans of Valor.

It’s been over a week since Sean Hannity accepted Charles Grodin’s waterboarding challenge. His offer was to raise money for the troops. Keith Olbermann offered to donate $1000 per second to charity. A volunteer has been found to administer the torture. A web site or two have been started to try and get him to keep his word. Is it because Glenn Beck‘s waterboarding poll shows that his viewers believe (3 to 1) that it’s torture? So, what’s the deal, Hannity? Here are a few theories…

1. You really do think it’s torture and you’re scared
2. You can’t admit that you made a stupid mistake
3. You don’t know what goes on outside your bubble
4. You secretly hate our troops & don’t want to donate
5. Fox News has told you to shut your trap
6. You’ve stuck your head in the sand like the last 8 yrs
7. You hope this will just go away if you ignore it

Another site has popped up, this time with a petition, encouraging Sean Hannity to keep his word and be waterboarded for charity. WaterboardForFreedom.org states, “Support Your Troops! Waterboard Sean Hannity!” Sign their petition here. The site appears to be a few days old and the petition has nearly 500 comments. There is also a page for tracking proposed charitable contributions, such as the $1000 per second from Keith Olbermann.

Greg Gutfeld, a host of Fox’s Red Eye, claims that the shots he took against Canadian troops was an attempt at satire. Following the deaths of four soldiers in Kandahar, Gutfeld poked fun at Canada and its military. For example, he stated that he didn’t know Canada even had troops deployed in Afghanistan.

“I realize that my words may have been misunderstood. It was not my intent to disrespect the brave men, women and families of the Canadian military, and for that I apologize,” Gutfeld said in the statement.
