One year ago, today, Sean Hannity agreed to be waterboarded for charity. He has yet to do it, not even for the troops’ families as he said he would…

Further Proof that Torture Doesn’t Work

We’ve seen Fox News personalities claim that either Waterboarding is not torture, or that Waterboarding and torture provide accurate information. They also disputed waterboarding statistics.

We all know that, legally and morally speaking, Waterboarding is torture. It’s against the law. Period. But what about the accuracy of the information? Again, rational people know that torture, unlike in the movies, produces lies. The proof is here in the form of quotes from conservative torture scapegoat, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.

“I make up stories,” Mohammed said, describing in broken English an interrogation probably administered by the CIA that concerned the location of Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.

“Where is he? I don’t know. Then he torture me,” Mohammed said. “Then I said, ‘Yes, he is in this area.’”

The above quotes are from the documents released recently as a result of an ACLU lawsuit, but were heavily redacted, contrary to Obama’s pledge to be more transparent.

Sean Hannity Still Insists Waterboarding Is Not Torture

A month after Sean Hannity said he would be waterboarded to show his support for our troops, Erich “Mancow” Muller took up the challenge. Mancow called it off after six seconds and stated, emphatically, that waterboarding is “absolutely torture.” He made an appearance on Countown with Keith Olbermann and said that it’s worse than drowning and that he would have said anything to make it stop, thus proving that it’s an unreliable method of obtaining accurate information.

After the initial offer to be waterboarded, after Mancow “manned up” and took the challenge, and after Mancow declared that it is, in fact, torture, Sean Hannity still insists that it’s not. He called Mancow and told him, “It’s still not torture.” Mancow replied, “Sean, it is torture.”

Mancow also praised Olbermann and called him a “stand up guy” for donating $10,000 to the Veterans of Valor.

Keith Olbermann Donates $10k to Charity in Mancow’s Name, not Sean Hannity’s

It made big news yesterday when Erich “Mancow” Muller was waterboarded live on his radio show. It happened to be on the one month anniversary of Sean Hannity‘s offer to do the same to support the troops. Of course, Hannity has not followed through on his word. Keith Olbermann, showing what charity and support looks like, withdrew his offer to donate $1,000 per second to charity in Sean Hannity’s name, calling him “unnecessary.” Instead he decided to give $10,000 to charity in Mancow’s name, even though Mancow only lasted around six seconds.

Jesse Ventura Makes $1,000 Waterboarding Bet to Sean Hannity

Former Governor, Navy SEAL and professional wrestler, Jesse Ventura, has been making the rounds recently promoting his new book. He’s been on The View, The Howard Stern Show, Sean Hannity’s show, Fox & Friends, etc. He also sat down with The Huffington Post for an interview in which he offered a $1,000 bet that if he were to waterboard Sean Hannity, he’d get Hannity to say that Barack Obama is the greatest president.

“I’ll bet [Hannity] a thousand bucks that I can get him to say ‘Barack Obama is the greatest president’ — if I get him to say it, he’ll give the thousand to charity and if I can’t, I’ll give the money to charity.”

Ventura also mentioned that he wants to go on The O’Reilly Factor, but Bill O’Reilly doesn’t have the courage to have him as a guest.

One Month Since Sean Hannity Waterboard Offer

On April 22, 2009, Sean Hannity offered to be waterboarded for our troops. It’s been one month since he made this pledge, thinking that waterboarding is not torture, and he has not followed up it.

Another on-air personality, Erich “Mancow” Muller, thought the same. Until now. He left it up to his listeners who voted that he should be subjected to a waterboarding session, live on his show. He lasted six to seven seconds and now says that it is “absolutely torture.”

Where are you at Hannity?

Karl Rove Calls Nancy Pelosi ‘Torture’ Accomplice

In the soap opera of American politics, we’ve seen countless stories about torture and who knew what, when. It’s almost incestuous. Let’s see if I get this right… it’s a little twisted: Democrats charge that Republicans, specifically the Bush Administration, was behind the the approval of torture methods, such as waterboarding. Republicans counter that it was the CIA who misinformed them, or didn’t inform them at all, about what was really going on. CIA disputes this and claims that Republicans and Democrats alike knew about and approved of what was going on.

Enter Nancy Pelosi, who is quoted as saying, “We were not — I repeat — were not told that waterboarding or any of these other enhanced interrogation methods were used” and Karl Rove, who just wrote an article for the Wall Street Journal, a News Corp. publication, which is now linked to on The Fox Nation web site. He claims, “Nancy Pelosi was an accomplice to ‘torture’” and “she not only agreed with what was being done, she apparently pressed the CIA to do more.” Accomplice is defined as “A cooperator; An associate in the commission of a crime.” In other words, Mr. Rove seems to imply that others should be charged for ordering torture, such as those in the Bush Administration, including himself. What a tangled web…

Newt Gringrich Makes False Claim About Democrats & Waterboarding

Former House Speaker Newt Gringrich was on Fox News Sunday, spreading more nonsense. Gringrich made the assertion, which was not challenged whatsoever by Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace, that Democrats did not try to ban waterboarding.

“And second, you know, they’ve had control since January of 2007. They haven’t passed a law making waterboarding illegal. They haven’t gone into any of these things and changed law.”

Here in the real world, we know that in 2007 the House of Representatives passed the Intelligence Authorization Act that would have limited interrogation methods to those approved by the Army Field Manual on Human Intelligence Collector Operations, thus prohibiting waterboarding. In 2008 a Democratic-controlled Congress passed the bill to ban the torture method. It was President George W. Bush who vetoed it.

Wanda Sykes Slams Sean Hannity At Correspondents Dinner

Wanda Sykes was the featured comic at the White House Correspondents Dinner and she had some choice words for Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh. Sykes brought up the fact that Hannity has not lived up to his waterboarding pledge and joked that Limbaugh was the 20th hijacker on 9/11.

“Sean Hannity said that he was going to get waterboarded for charity for our armed forces. He hasn’t done it yet I see. Talking about he can take a waterboarding, please,ok you might be able to get waterboarded by somebody he knows and trusts, but let somebody from Pakistan waterboard him, or let Keith Olbermann waterboard him. He can’t take a waterboarding. I can break Sean Hannity by giving him a middle seat in coach.”

Sean Hannity’s Flock Want Him Waterboarded

While it’s obviously for different reasons, i.e. to shut up those evil libs, Sean Hannity‘s faithful followers won’t let him forget about his offer to be waterboarded. Actually, it appears that they’re foaming at their mouths to see it done, much like a pack of rabid sheep. Here are a few gems from Sean Hannity’s forum

Mr. Hannity I would be honor to join you for the waterboarding technique challenge offered by keith olberman. Although olbermann should not perform the waterboarding because he’s an idiot and has no idea how it’s done but I would not have any problem with an ex-military or ex-CIA doing it. (link)

Further proof that Sean puts his $$$ where his mouth is and yet another reason I love Sean! (link)

I’ll hand you a towel Sean. Show those libs. (link)

Now that the terrorists know waterboarding technique and that it’s won’t necessary kill em, they’ll be be prepare for it. It may even cause waterboarding to be less effective. Do we need to come up with different enhanced interrogation technique? (link)

There is ample proof on Hannity’s forum that he has some seriously sadistic followers. With friends like those, he doesn’t need enemies!

Sean Hannity Silent About Waterboarding

It’s been over a week since Sean Hannity accepted Charles Grodin’s waterboarding challenge. His offer was to raise money for the troops. Keith Olbermann offered to donate $1000 per second to charity. A volunteer has been found to administer the torture. A web site or two have been started to try and get him to keep his word. Is it because Glenn Beck‘s waterboarding poll shows that his viewers believe (3 to 1) that it’s torture? So, what’s the deal, Hannity? Here are a few theories…

  1. You really do think it’s torture and you’re scared
  2. You can’t admit that you made a stupid mistake
  3. You don’t know what goes on outside your bubble
  4. You secretly hate our troops & don’t want to donate
  5. Fox News has told you to shut your trap
  6. You’ve stuck your head in the sand like the last 8 yrs
  7. You hope this will just go away if you ignore it

Volunteer Found to Waterboard Sean Hannity

First Sean Hannity, while talking with Charles Grodin, agrees to be waterboarded. Then, Keith Olbermann takes him up on it and offers up $1,000 per second that Hannity can withstand the torture method. Now, Olbermann has found a willing participant in this game of chicken. Former Army interrogator and SERE school instructor, Mike Ritz, has come forward to administer the waterboarding for charity. A $30,000 bonus has been offered if Hannity admits that, after being waterboarded, it is torture.

Fox News Disputes Khalid Sheikh Mohammed Waterboarding Number

While the rest of the world is reporting that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was waterboarded 183 times, Fox News plays another game of semantics and claims that that number is misleading. Here’s how it plays out… Fox News obviously supports the use of torture, so they find a source that tells them that a waterboarding “session” can include numerous “pours,” so Fox News can then say that there was only a small number of waterboarding “sessions” and everyone else is wrong. Tricky isn’t it?

The problem with their reasoning, if you can call it that, is that Waterboarding is defined as a torture method where water is poured into breathing passages, or on a rag covering the breating passages, thus suffocating the victim. They did that 183 times. Fox News admits that there were breaks between pours where the victim can catch their breath. To use their terminology, that break would constitute the end of one “session” and the beginning of another. Nowhere in the definition of waterboarding is there a mention of “sessions.”

Waterboard Sean Hannity for Charity?

Sean Hannity consents to waterboarding. Then the bar is raised when Keith Olbermann offers $1000 per second. Now, there’s a new web site devoted to the charitable waterboarding session…

At WaterboardSeanHannityForCharity.com, you can email mock donations of one dollar per second. Not good enough? You can provide stipulations (i.e. He has to be standing on a bucket for seven hours with no bathroom breaks). There is a disclaimer that your email will be forwarded to MSNBC, Fox and Sean Hannity’s favorite charity.
